How I Turned My Marijuana into Spiritual Medicine

Empath Education, Existentialism

For a long time now cannabis has been highly stigmatized as a schedule 1 drug by the federal government and citizens of the world alike. Now, as many states have begun to consider the plant recreational those who have been using the miracle herb as a spiritual teacher and healer can begin to speak out about their experiences in hopes of helping others access the mysticism of the plant.

At this point many might think, we’ve been getting high since we were 15 and I haven’t become any more spiritual? That is because this wasn’t the aim in using cannabis for this generation. Setting an intention before enjoying any type of cannabis will withdraw the spiritual teacher from the plant and can create a metaphysically sacred experience. The key to transforming the experience of “getting high” into one of ethereal meaning lies with setting an intention for the sesh.

The History of Cannabis as a Spiritual Teacher

In the ancient Eastern world cannabis was regarded as a valuable tool by many respected individuals across various cultures. Japanese Shinto culture has long used cannabis to drive away evil spirits. Shinto belief relies that purity and evil cannot exist alongside each other so they crafted small sticks made with hemp fibers called the gohei. In religious and formal ceremonies practitioners often wore hemp robes and the gohei was waved in front of people to purify them and their space. Similarly the ancient Iranian people regarded cannabis as the “good narcotic”, referring to the plant in the Venidad in a story where two mortals were sent to the heavens where they drank a cup of bhang. With this intoxicating cup they were shown the highest mysteries of the universe. They also relayed that hemp smoke was also known to cause “shamanic ecstasy”.

The prophet of Islam Mohammed prohibited the use of alcohol strictly while placing no restrictions on the consumption of cannabis. Medieval Arab doctors called cannabis kannab and Muslims have often referred to the herb as “the Holy Plant”. Sufis and Muslim mystics utilized hashish to appreciate the nature of Allah and stimulate their mystical consciousness. The deeply spiritual Sufi people believed that cannabis delivered deep insight into oneself which helps open the mind to a spiritual awakening. Chinese culture regarded cannabis as a “liberator of sin” and were taught hemp cultivation in 28th century BC by Shen Yung, the father of Chinese medicine. Taoists in 1st Century AD China added hemp to their incense as a means to reaching immortality reporting a mystic exaltation.

Within Southern Central Africa cannabis has long been held as a sacred plant that holds the complete universal protection. The famous religion of Rastafarianism, established in the late 1920’s,  is heavily influenced by African culture and the use of cannabis to introspectively awaken oneself to the teachings of God. Rastafarians believe that smoking ganja will burn corruption out of the human heart while also being a solid symbol of peace and friendship. They are also the most modern spiritual sect that still utilizes cannabis as a vehicle to understanding our human relationship with a higher power. For centuries cannabis was used as a pathway to a relationship with a spiritual realm, so why is it that now cannabis is simply a party stimulant often compared to alcohol?

Setting Intention is the Key

The reason that we are so focused on the mind-altering party effects of cannabis and not the mind-expanding spiritual effects is because we are living in a sick society. Cannabis is now recreational in many states because politicians have realized there is profit to gain from the plant, but in this shift I fear that we are losing the beautifully medicinal power of the healing herb. Cultural influences of cannabis movies and other relevant pop culture have reflected a message of what a stoner is onto the plant which makes most assume that cannabis is just for the lazy video gamer eating cheetos in his mother’s basement. This has pretty much made the door to spiritual awakening for those that don’t have an innate ability to partake in an intentional session like the door to the Kingdom Under the Mountain in The Hobbit.

The truth is that even those who sometimes get super baked and lock themselves to the couch for a couple of hours were capable of utilizing that sesh to reach an enlightened state. History shows that cannabis has been a strong tool for spiritual leaders across the Eastern world, so what is the difference? Well, before smoking we must infuse the session with intention, invite the spirit realm into the cannabis before partaking. An interview published on Erowid cites the analogy that cannabis is much like driving a car. When we get in the car, the engine is running but that doesn’t necessarily dictate where we’re going; this is the same concept as spiritually medicating with cannabis. Although we’ve inhaled the powerful smoke or vapors and started our engines, where we go with that high is up to our own minds. The root to all spiritual endeavors is already embedded within our own minds, waiting for us to access it. When we’re smoking, if our intention is to simply feel some specific feeling then that is what the plant will give to us. However, if we can set an intention for that session of spiritual awakening and visions into ourselves then we can access a side of the plant that has been dead from our generation for many years, and in turn perhaps we’ll be able to heal a wounded culture.

Have you experimented with cannabis in a spiritual way? I find it beneficial in my connection to Shiva through yoga practice and my ability to quiet the mind in my meditation practice. What is your experience?

Vanilla Kush for the Stress Prone Mind

Indica Cultivar, Product Review

[Kashmir Hash Plant x Afghani Kush] [90% Indica]

When life is delivering the lemons far to fast to keep up with the sugar it’s sometimes appropriate to turn to cannabis as a means to cope. Of course this isn’t healthy all the time, but dealing with stress can be too intense for some to do sans medication and in my opinions cannabis is far more healthy than prescription medications. Cannabis can help to relieve stress and anxiety simultaneously, it is a great herbal remedy for these extremely common ailments and has very few side effects aside from hunger and lethargy.

Vanilla Kush 1 copy

How Does It Hit the Senses?

This robust nug is rounded and bulbous with an intoxicating scent. You’ll be overwhelmed with earthy cocoa and hints of sweet guava that creates an almost vanilla aroma. Dark forest green and indigo cover each beautiful bud. Vanilla Kush won’t be the densest but it isn’t leafy either, just a nice mixture of the combination of the two. I always recommend breaking up the buds with a grinder but you won’t lose anything aside from keif breaking this one up with your fingers.

What Are The Effects?

The first relaxation of Vanilla Kush kicks in the mandibles, the jaw starts to loosen and relax about 3-5 minutes after inhalation. Immediately after this jaw tension dissipates the mind will begin to release anything from the day, week or month that it might be grasping tightly onto.  Eventually the pain relief moves throughout all of the tendons, muscles and joints as if it is a wave of comfiness. Feel complete and utter relaxation in mind, body and spirit; let your cares completely melt away in every sense of the word. The effects sit heavily in the face and eyes and will definitely make you feel couch locked high if you let it.

Cherry Pie Cannabis Strain to Relieve Stress & Anxiety

Hybrid Cultivar, Product Review

[Durban Poison x Grand Daddy Purple][60% Indica]

Sometimes my first experience with a strain is in back genetics, that is how I first met Cherry Pie. I noticed that the strain was a back genetic in Girl Scout Cookies which I absolutely love. So when I finally had the opportunity to medicate with Cherry Pie herself I was so dang excited. Bay Area growers restructured the classic Cherry Kush to create this relaxing and uplifting hybrid strain that is taking the medical states by storm. The strain can be found at different dispensaries in Arizona and is worthwhile for anyone with chronic pain, insomnia or severe anxiety. This isn’t a super heavy strain so don’t worry beginners, you can enjoy this medication too.

How Does It Hit the Senses?

Bud structure of Cherry Pie is bulbous and more rounded than other more spear or pine tree shaped nuggets. It is so blanketed in trichomes that the color appears almost light green with tinges of deep reddish purple. These trichomes that are found generously coated across the bud make each nugget super sticky, you’ll gum up a cheap grinder with this one. In the smell there is a rich blackberry sweetness that is only complimented by a bright saffron that combines to push forth an almost minty aroma. Real Cherry Pie will have a hint of Thin Mints in both the flavor and the taste of the smoke.

What are the Effects?

Medicinal effects will begin to take hold anywhere from 3-10 minutes after inhalation. Effects begin in the ocular region and immediately take hold in the mind where you’ll feel an immense need to just let go. Cherry Pie will have you feeling uplifted and ready to take on the day, no matter what it entails. There will be some minor pain relief as the effects slowly loosen up the intricate muscles surrounding the spine. Manage both stress and anxiety with an extremely alert and active mind for the first couple of hours after medicating. There is a bit of an Indica couch lock that creeps in as the bud begins to wear off, beware of those overwhlemingly lethargic feelings.

The Origins of Carajuana

Lifestyle

I’ve been writing on this blog for awhile and it was all under the assumption that I was giving people instruction on how to utilize cannabis as a medicine. But recently it was called to my attention that not everyone automatically assumes that’s the case. In honor of 420 I thought that I would share with the interwebs exactly what cannabis as medicine means to me. In high school and even my first year of college, smoking weed was a recreational thing. I use that vernacular because cannabis is medicine, weed is a party drug; shifting the perspective starts with specification of vernacular. Anyways, it wasn’t until I quit college soccer and started medicating my severe depression and mild anxiety with binge alcoholism that I began to search elsewhere for a means of medicating this internal pain.

I was drinking quite a lot of vodka every single night until I threw up or passed out with the spins. I had sallow, yellowed and broken out skin and never had good digestive tendencies; everything hurt. A therapist had told me to take anti-depressants but I was REALLY on the fence about messing with my body chemistry like that. My roommate at the time was a medical cannabis patient in California and drew me into her world of cannabis. Going into a dispensary for the first time opened my eyes to the different strains, edibles and hashes that existed in the world. I was enthralled that the right cannabis strain or product could remove my depression and anxiety while also not making me barf my brains out and feel like shit. It seemed silly that the whole world wasn’t hip to the jive of this beautiful plant. Around this time I also started practicing yoga and I found that the combination of the two was pretty legendary. Right then and there I set a goal to make it a priority in my life to share with other people that they can overcome their severe depression with the right combination of different holistic methods. You don’t always have to medicate yourself and remove the color and vibrancy from your life, take a different step first.

After about 5 years medicating I was called up to the big leagues. That means that I got a job at one of the hippest cannabis dispensaries in San Francisco city. I felt on top of the world and I immediately decided that I needed to be a sponge. That I now had the opportunity to learn from the source of retail and come into contact with all aspects of the medical cannabis industry. Since the industry wasn’t very researched yet, I think that the most important and educational experiences for me in the dispensary scene were conversations with my fellow budtenders (now consultants.) With out research most of the knowledge was gathered from field work, meaning that we all talked about strains and their effects and learned about these things from each other. Flash forward and I’ve now worked at 4 dispensaries in 2 states and have used my little brain sponge to gather so much valuable & reliable information. With all of these little tips and tricks I plan to keep myself and my family as healthy as possible, and I also hope to post information here as a means to share my passion for natural health and wellness with all of you. Happy 420 to all of you beautiful human beings, please remember that cannabis is medicine and use this holiday for the greater good! If you’re at Hippy Hill give a cop a Highhh five and then shout “CARAAAJUAANNNAA” and run away for me.

Pineapple Express Cannabis Review

Hybrid Cultivar, Product Review, Sativa Cultivar

[Trainwreck x Hawaiian][Sativa Dominant Hybrid – About 70%]

One of my most favorite faeries that I’ve met in my travels through various cannabis dispensaries liked to ask everyone what their spirit fruit was. My immediate answer was that I am a pineapple, which is only partially nailed down by my love for all strains pineapple. Pineapple Express obviously became a household name after the feature film came out, but I feel like that took away from the epic value of the strain medicinally. The strong effects combine those found in both Indica and Sativa strains to weave an intricate cornucopia of healing.

How Does It Hit the Senses? Obviously there is a deliciously rich pineapple aroma that emanates from each bud. This smell becomes more complex with the layered bouquet of sweet, tropical lemon geranium with the lightest hint of vanilla almond. The dense bud structure is a bit like a fat pine tree, with a tip at the end of each bud and a thick solid base. Each bud will appear in an almost lime green that is delicately sprinkled with dark green leaves. Pistils are a goldenrod orange and grow in a uniform fashion throughout the entire nug. As far as taste goes the vapor or smoke will be all pineapple, all the time. The musky lemon flavor of train wreck only heightens the pineapple flavor from the Hawaiian genetics.

What are the Effects? Effects take their full hold in about 5-10 minutes and they do so with almost a cyclone of combined relaxation and stimulation in the mind. Feel the temples loosen and stress melt away while also titillating and invigorating the mind to a place of motivation. Tense muscles will relax familiar with the feeling of an Indica but don’t expect couch lock, munchies or de-motivating side effects. This is a Sativa that just so happens to melt away tension and stress like nobody’s business. Pineapple Express is perfect for the cannabis patient looking for daytime pain relief and anyone that is vulnerable to de-motivation when medicating.

Phantom Cookies: Medical Cannabis Strain Review

Hybrid Cultivar, Product Review

[Granddaddy Purple x Cherry Pie]

I really love this strain and covet it as a Sativa dominant counterpart to Girl Scout Cookies. There is a definitely buzzing about the brain but with some familiar Indica effects layered onto this unique and complex medication. Some strains have a specific way that they hit the mind in a physical sense, but this one just gets your dome on an all around scale. There aren’t a lot of negative things to say about Phantom Cookies, perhaps be aware that the strain can cause some anxiety in stressful work situations if it has never been used before.

How Does It Hit The Senses?

Phantom Cookies has the same familiar GSC bud structure with the addition of being delightfully sticky. The buds are almost square and extremely rock dense. They purple out just a little bit sometimes in almost a black purple hue, the nuggets are mostly kelly green with milky white trichomes draped all over buds. The aroma dabbles in a sweet, spicy and rich saffron with undertones of cardamom to create the pleasant scent of a spiced cookie.

What Are The Effects?

Immediately feel the mind buzzing and the eyes become completely aware and then release all of the tension or inflammation that they may be carrying. Relaxation will wash thoroughly over you as the strain begins to really take hold about 5 minutes after inhalation. Phantom Cookies takes hold of the body and mind to relax the entire spirit from a stressful day or before a stressful situation depending on the person medicating. Be sure to try this strain in a comfortable setting because it can create some anxiety and even confusion, making it a bad choice for any job that requires a steady mind.

Cannabis and Your Period, Happy Women's Day!

Lifestyle

Happy National Women’s Day! In honor of Women I thought it would be a good day to post something about the benefits of cannabis in relieving aspects of “women’s troubles.” Also in a completely selfish way I woke up with absolutely the most painful cramps in my life and it wasn’t until I sat down with Mr. Bong and some Holy Grail Kush that I felt like a normal human being again. It seems that every month my woman time takes a different demonic form. This month is “Holy Deathcramps Batman!” and last month was bloat city, party of 1. Sometimes other people even breathing in oxygen makes me want to punch them in their well meaning faces. Hormones are weird. The beautiful thing about this horrible monthly ailment (aside from making baby children) is that cannabis can strip away almost all of the side effects of menstruation if used properly.

CRAMPS OF DOOM

In my attempt at explaining the pain of my own monthly cramps to cowboyfriend I settled on the perfect analogy. It is like wearing a weight belt of agony. As if my uterus was now made of rusty gears grinding against each other. Smoking can greatly relieve the pain of cramps in both the pelvic area and the lower back.

Sometimes smoking isn’t always available, perhaps you’re at work or your kids are around for the day. In these situations I recommend micro dosing edibles, it works for me every time. I just completely forget about the pain and when it comes back I count and it’s always been about 4-5 hours… that is how long an edible lasts. I do warn however, NEVER over do it. When I say micro dosing I mean anywhere from 5-10mg of medical cannabis Indica or Indica dominant hybrid. Another way to relieve cramps on the sly is to vaporize wax, it has intense effects and very little to no smell when vaped. Just remember that this doesn’t work for a lower tolerance patient.

HORMONE DEATH SPIRAL OF MEANNESS

Aside from the weight belt of agony, my period also delivers a nice dose of wanting to punch people in the face every way that I turn. Am I right? This is when I love Sativa strains, specifically Moby Dick. A Sativa dominant hybrid strain or wax will relieve all of these tense feelings. I prefer a strain that isn’t full Sativa because sometimes those strains will put me on pins and needles, only worsening the symptoms that I’m battling. Everyone is different, so have some Indica around to mellow the effects and balance you’re mind if you try a full Sativa and have the same problem. I generally turn to Sativa gummy candy micro-dosing in these situations. I guess I’m just a big fan of micro dosing edibles… so sue me. This also works really well for anyone battling depression, it lifts my spirits in the worst of times.

WARNING: Please take time to test all doses of edibles in a safe, comfortable space before attempting to dose while going about your daily life. It is important to understand how the cannabis interacts with your body before taking my word for it, we’re all different!

Top 10 Indica Strains for Insomnia

Indica Cultivar

One of the most common problems that can make anyone’s day just crap is a poor night’s sleep. Cannabis is not only helpful for inducing sleep, it also helps to keep you asleep all night. Smoking and vaporizing can be a great option for getting a nice high to get a good night of rest. But I’d recommend edibles for getting a long lasting effect suitable for sleeping. These strains are my most favorite for night time; they’ll relax, relieve pain and help work as a sleep aid.

  1. Blueberry [Purple Thai x Afghani]

Do you have pure Blueberry? Call me. Seriously, it’s so hard to find regular old Blueberry cannabis that isn’t crossed with anything. Blueberry nuggets create more of a bulbous bud structure with a blueberry patchouli aroma. It is one of the strains that commonly has high CBD quantities. Generally there won’t be immensely high amounts of THC so the effects will be mellow and relaxing. Feel gently lulled to sleep by Blueberry and also feel immense relief from aches and pains.

2. Grand Daddy Purple [Purple Urkle x Big Bud]

One the purple heavy hitters, GDP is a classic that I grab whenever I find it at a dispensary. It is one of those Indica strains that just slaps you right in the face. GDP smells sweet and earthy, like most wonderful indica strains, and has a dark purple dark green hue with a bulbous, pine tree bud structure. Take a hit and then immediately feel relief from pain, stress and a need to go to sleep. This is a great one for the anxious mind that keeps you up at night because it hits you with a freight train of tired moments after inhalation. Find an edible with this strain and get ready for the most intense sleep of your life.

3. Northern Lights #5 [Afghani Indica x Thai Sativa]

This is another of those comfortable, relaxing Indica strains that slowly lulls you to sleep after relieving any stress, pain or discomfort. I love this strain because it calmly pushes you into a river of tired before bed. It runs through the body with a light, airy sense of pain relief that eventually reaches the brain. The nugs will usually be bright green, dripping in trichomes and ball-like fat, dense structure.

4. Romulan [North American Sativa x White Rhino]

I’ll preface this saying that this is a favorite to have on shelves as a budtender. Not just because it is a classic Indica for pain relief and sleepiness but also because it helps you spot all the Trekkies in the crowd. Pronunciation is key. Pine entwines with sweet earth to create a scent that is distinct and pungent, buds will be light green fat spears with long, dark brown pistils. This is another lull comfortably to sleep options. It gives you a little kick in the rear but is still a mellower option in comparison to GDP and Black Diamond.

5. Black Diamond [Blackberry x Diamond Kush]

The teeny tiny percentage of Sativa in this strain shoots you up into the air upon first inhalation. It almost tricks you into thinking that you’re awake, which is why I wouldn’t recommend this strain for the severely anxious before bed. The aroma that the nugs emit is pure blackberry, sweet and bright. They grow in a dark purple and kelly green hue with light orange pistils littering the little pine trees. Effects will shoot you to the moon making you feel on top of the world, this is partially due to the amazing pain relief that the strain provides. You could get immensely hungry and then all of a sudden BOOM you’re tired, and asleep. Depending on the batch of bud, you could just pass out like a narcoleptic person when smoking Black Diamond.

6. Blackberry Kush [Blueberry x Afghani]

Enjoy the most melty, delicious pain relief with just one inhalation of Blackberry Kush. A lot like Black Diamond, a child of this beautiful mother, the smell of these nuggets is sweet, delightful blackberry. They grow in fat, purple balls that are so dense you’ll want a grinder. You’ll feel any pent up anxiety or deep seeded stress release and the tension in joints and muscles will relax; everything is hunky dory after some BBK. All of these things (pain, anxiety, stress) can lead to insomnia, Blackberry Kush can help solve that problem.

7. Afgoo

When I first got my medical cannabis card in 2009 in San Francisco I walked straight to the original Green Room and picked up some Afgoo. It will always sit so comfortably in my heart for this reason. Combining an earthy Afghani with sweet strawberry cedar wood of Goo; Afgoo is unmatchable for pain relief combining with relaxation. What better to lead to a good night’s sleep. The buds will be light brown/green and spear like with a smell that is both pungent earth and sweet as sugar.

8. Holy Grail Kush

This former Cannabis Cup winner can do it for me every time. I love the pain relief provided by Holy Grail, and the intensity of the effects given combined with the Kosher Kush parentage can have the same sleep inducing properties as GDP. That’s right, it’ll punch you right in the face! Sorry I just love that analogy. The buds smell like a lemony pile of delightful dirt and grow in fat balls with little points in a light greenish brown dense chunky nug. True effects are felt immediately, making this a wonderful option for the intensely anxious cannabis medicator.

9. Purple Kush [Hindu Kush x Purple Afghani]

If you can get your hands on true Purple Kush then you’re in for a delightful, relaxed evening. I’ve seen this strain run anywhere from a light purple hue with a vibrant green undertone to a dark purple hue that was so covered with trichomes that the spear shaped nuggets almost shone white. The pleasant aroma emits a rich cocoa and deep blackberry. Effects are relaxing and comfortable. There are no spikes in energy or intense ups and downs before the inevitable faceplant. This Indica strain is like snuggling in a warm blanket that gently lulls you to sleep. It is a great option for the anxious insomniac with a spiraling mind that keeps them awake.

10. Bubba Kush [OG Kush x Maybe Northern Lights #5]

Ooooh yum Bubba Kush, it is one of the most melty and comfortable Indica strains. It can relax the most tense of muscles which can really help when attempting to get some shut eye. Generally I’ve seen this bud with a structure like little bowling balls, not too dense but definitely not loose. The aroma is of deep, rich soil with sweet plum undertones. Taste resembles the smell pretty closely. Bubba Kush is bound to create a lethargic effect but beware calorie counters, you will probably get the munchies.

Blue OG Indica Cannabis Strain Review

Indica Cultivar, Product Review

[Blueberry x Blue Moonshine x OG Kush][70% Indica]

Now that I don’t work at the dispensary it’s been fun finding my flower from different sources. This Blue OG is a friends home grown that I was super impressed with. It is a strain that is once again picking up steam because it translates quite well into extractions. I love OG and am thankful for the comeback of Blue OG, because it smells and tastes amazing. It also delivers a pure, delicious Indica high that can mellow the most tightly strung of nerves.

How Does It Hit the Senses?

It is so wonderful to put your nose in a jar of Blue OG. The aroma hits you immediately and the flowers grow beautiful and blanketed with trichomes. Short, fat and squatty bud structure with light green calyxes that shine with an ethereal blue hue. Small light brown orange pistils are coated across each nug evenly. The aroma hits you first with a sweet blueberry then a sharp, pungent geranium. When you break the buds up a pure sticky sweet berry aroma fills the room.

What is the Effect?

Floral terpenes take immediate hold when you first inhale the smoke from Blue OG. Effects are first felt in the ocular system where the relaxation congregates. Slowly the seeping release of tension moves from the cranium and down the back to the rest of the body. Feel immediate pain relief as anxieties drift away from the slowing mind. Nestle into this effect as it wraps around you. You will get lethargic if you’re not a regular Indica smoker, so save this strain for evening times after your work is finished for the day. This is a great strain for appetite stimulation, you’ll get hungry due in part to the Blueberry genetic parentage. A great option for PMS and any mood swings or pain.

Durban Poison: Cannabis Strain Review

Product Review, Sativa Cultivar

[South African Land Race Strain][100% Sativa]

The first cannabis dispensaries that I worked for in San Francisco, Medithrive and then Bloom Room SF, had Durban Poison available as a regular house strain. At the time I didn’t realize what a commodity I had at my fingertips. You see, Durban Poison is a very sought after strain and many growers will receive what they think are Durban clones or seeds that only turn out to be ‘Urban Poison’ which is actually Durban genetically crossed with Northern Lights.

After leaving SF and moving on to Southern California and then Northern Arizona I have seen many strains passed off as Durban that just plain aren’t. One reason that the Poison is so exciting is that it is a landrace strain. That means that it is not a genetic cross of anything, it is a pure strain from Africa. There are only about 7 landrace strains found in the world today including Acapulco Gold, Hawaiian, Afghani, Lambs Bread and more. It is also one of the few that is shown to almost always have a high concentration the coveted THCv, the cannabinoid that helps you to shed pounds.

How Does It Hit The Senses?

One way to know for sure that you’re hanging out with real deal Durban Poison is by the intense mint smell that resonates in the nostril after the immediate citrus pine aroma wears away. The buds will be pine tree shaped and light green with light orange pistils sprinkled evenly around. Real Durban is sticky icky, your fingers will have a residue when you break the little trees apart. There truly is not much better than the sweet, fresh aroma of Durban Poison.

What is the Effect?

Durban Poison will take effect immediately in the nasal region spreading quickly to the ocular system and then the entire head and mind. The slight pressure I often describe that occurs from medicating with Sativa strains is alive and well with Durban. The fabulous difference between this strain and other full Sativa strains is that it usually grows with an unusually high CBD content. After the strain takes hold in the mind it begins to show itself around the body. Those aches and pains that have become a familiar  daily occurrence will begin to dissipate. When the uplifting properties of the high combine with the mellowing body effects, the real magic of Durban Poison begins to happen. A heaviness washes over you but the mind is still very active which creates a calm, creative and almost psychedelic effect. Use this strain for creative stimulation every single time, it will help you reach new heights and help you to get into a focused zone. As for the anxiety that I personally experience with full Sativa strains, that only happens 5% of the time that I medicate with Durban.

Use this to aide with: Creative Stimulation, Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, ADD
